Our story
My journey to creating Koola Herbals began when I moved to Europe and faced unbearable period pains. In my home country, I relied on herbal remedies from my mother’s garden, but when I moved to Sweden, I lost access to them. Painkillers didn’t help, and I struggled with severe symptoms like dizziness, nausea, and extreme abdominal pain.
Desperate for relief, I arranged for my mother to send the herbs from home, and they worked perfectly. As I started language school in Sweden, I met other women with similar struggles. We shared our stories, and I realized that many women needed these remedies. This is where the idea for Koola Herbals began.
I knew that the best herbs and knowledge came from the rural areas of my home country, and I was determined to work with women who, like my mother, faced financial challenges. Partnering with women in my village, we began growing and creating the herbal recipes now used in our teas.
Koola Herbals is about empowering women—helping them access natural healing while also providing economic opportunities. In early 2022, I returned to Uganda to start this initiative. The women in the village welcomed the project with open arms, dedicating land to grow these herbs. They now earn five times what they used to, creating a better future for themselves and their families.
At Koola Herbals, we are committed to women supporting women, through natural healing and economic empowerment.
